Awa Bancha is in Shikoku island, Tokushima in Japan. The origins of light tea are traced back to around 1200 years ago, when tea-making techiniques were taught. This fermented tea-making method is rare worldwide. This tea has a refreshing umami and sour taste.Awa Bancha contains very little caffeine, and is safely given to babies in Tokushima. It is said to be effective in regulating the intestines through fermentation with plant-based lactic acid bacteria, and in treating high blood pressure and diabetes.
